Here is another sample of article marketing. Originally written to be used in a blogged newsletter, this style is considered authoritative, expert and works well in a niche market serving the plastic injection molding industry. The “short and to the point” style is chosen because the intended readers are constantly busy and on the run. Short snippets can be read between sips of coffee. Being familiar with your target market is necessary for this type of matter of fact style.
“How To” Injection Mold It Right The First Time
Low cost production is dependent on a good design. That is the first step in doing it right the first time. The part has to be designed with the least amount of steps, components, weight, and time to manufacture, while using as robust a method as feasible. Assembled features or attaching points need to be molded into the part. Wall thickness should be ample for the type of material selected. Jobs quoted need to have a feasibility and design review done by manufacturing people. A designer with hands on manufacturing experience can lower manufacturing costs by as much as 50%. One who doesn’t have a molding background can bring a company to its knees.
Once in production, many unforeseen events occur to cause a review of the reasons for one manufacturing problem or another. Any molded plastic part can be infinitely improved given enough effort. With enough regular discussion, new ideas surface that drive reduced costs.
During the next team-oriented problem-solving root cause analysis, see if a design change eliminates the problem. Most manufacturing problems start and end there. Costs will go down and profits will go up.
