Your surfing habits say a lot about you. Do you ever linger on a site long enough to click on the ads that support that site? Or do you hurry off and forget what you saw and where you saw it. Do you take time to leave a comment? To a blog poster leaving a comment is important but not as important as supporting his or her advertisers. I get a lot of comments but rarely any follow through to see what the offers are all about. Did you know that as a blogger you can not visit the links on your own site? You are completely in the dark about what those ads contain and whether or not they are pertinent to you posts.
Without visitors to comment on the content the blogger has no way to know if he is servicing his readers.
If you want to help out a blogger, you can do so by visiting his or her advertisers and then returning to leave a comment or a guest post about the topic. This is more valuable than saying how nice the articles are or how much you enjoyed the post. Doing something of substance helps all the readers. From personal experience there are teams of people behind the ads running on blogs. They work hard at making a small phrase or a couple of words grab your attention. If you are not rewarding them with a visit, then you are a surfer without merit and to the blogger it was like you were never there.
